Ryan Chiu attended both college and medical school at University of Illinois at Chicago through the GPPA accelerated 7-year BS/MD program. He is an inductee of the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies and scored 257 on USMLE Step 1 and 259 on USMLE Step 2 CK. In 2020, the American Medical Association named him a "Physician of Tomorrow." He is a neurosurgical resident at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

In his free time, Ryan enjoys road trips and travelling, exploring the restaurant scene, and playing chess and board games.
